Nice wholesome Carvery with plenty of veg. Would've have some beef but it looked very fatty. Good offer of meals for £6.00 which we took advantage of.

We've just been left waiting 50 minutes for our table,in spite of waiting patiently merely a few steps away from the restaurant manager (in a blue shirt). Even the kind bar maid went to mention to him that he had left us, a family with 2 kids, waiting so long. When I asked the manager the reason for delay, he simply put the blame on us, claiming he had called us then moved on to the next group promptly (he didn't call us, we were next to him and paying attention every time a group was called) and gave a very insincere and defensive apology as he finally seated us at the table. Our kids were exhausted by then and the service we received completely ruined our appetite, so we chose to leave, after having spent money on drinks at the bar whilst waiting too. Very disappointing service, the food is usually lovely there. We will not be coming back because of the poor treatment and communication from this manager. Very disheartening, especially with kids, and we lost on our discounted meal voucher.

Lovely place, Sonia was so friendly and the breakfast was great. Can't wait to go back there. Our go to one since Sutton Park shut. I recommend the "Dirty Yorkshire puds" they were enhanced with bacon and onion. YUMMY!

Lovely self serve breakfast unlimited as is the filter coffee , met by Sonia at front desk she was very helpful , good value would recommend

Was welcomed in such a lovely friendly manner by Sonia. She was happy, cheerful and very friendly. The food was delicious, never usually eat breakfast but I demolished it. It was so tasty and presented nicely. Will always use this carvery in future even though not on my doorstep like others but well worth the drive !!

A big shout out to the ever friendly Sonia who told us that she is retiring from the Toby. She will undoubtedly be missed and her friendly cheerful demeanour is an asset to any workplace. Sonia always welcomes us though she knows us as family and we could do with a few more Sonia’s in the world, and she deserves any bonuses going and a pay rise. The Toby carvery full English is great as ever but I’ve got two points to note. Please sort your revolving toaster out as it’s terrible. You have to put the bread through a minimum of two times to even get a colour on the bread and as it’s at the beginning of the queue it’s sited in the wrong position where if it’s busy you then have to back track on the queue to collect your toast . It needs to be away from the servery on its own table like they did at the Sutton Park Toby. I understand why you cover the buttons over but whoever is setting them up needs to put a piece of bread through to see how it toasts. As for your fried eggs. The last time I visited there weren’t any available at all until I’d finished my meal, and then they had the consistency of a bouncy ball. A scrambled egg option would probably be better. I like the Toby as I know what I’m getting for the price and it’s a great meeting place for the group of ten people that I attend with every six weeks, and I’ll be back.

Lost a star because of the coffee! The food is good and we were greeted again by Sonia i(have been here many times) She is constantly cheerful, helpful and friendly and great credit to Toby Carvery. The coffee is dreadful though. I don’t drink tea but I can’t drink the filter coffee. My son describes it as it tastes like it’s been strained through a used sock 🤣

When having a booking I don't think you should be made to wait 30 minutes to be seated! We were about to walk out but then they managed to get us a table that I had already booked. If booking then the people that are sat at your assigned table should be made aware that the table is need back at that time.

Toby Shenstone very disappointed arrived 6.30 no turkey beef fat and gristle pork on its last legs only the gammon was just about acceptable my wife and son only eat white meat so a carvery no meat. No mash. Not the fist time I've been disappointed here. No not the best carvery around. Did tell the waitress had no come back. My own fault giving it an other chance.
